Around 1912, Czarist Russia started liner services between Russia and Japan, which was called "GIYU MERCHANT SHIP" among Japanese.
In 1914, Naigai Unyu Company was nominated its agent in Japan and was renamed "Giyu Shokai Ltd. Started to handle heavy duty equipments from Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Ind. And Mitsubishi Steel.
Then, in 1937, it started liner services between Korea/China and Japan by its own ships.
In 1942, due to Japanese law, Giyu Shokai Ltd. Parted with its own ships, dissolved, then restarted as "Giyu Kaiun Co.,Ltd. |

Company logo from life buoy. It was designed in 1914 during Giyu Shokai Ltd., and passed over the century. It was derived from company policy which was made much of life and respected for human. |
